Territory Foods is hiring a Culinary Manager based in the SF Bay Area to serve as the menu and meal architect and chef relationship cultivator for the region. Reporting to the Head of Culinary, you will be the owner of the local culinary operations. Teaming up with local chefs, and guided by customer feedback and metrics, you’ll be tasked with bringing delicious meals (and other products) that meet our anti-inflammatory criteria to our menu and ensuring our menu addresses our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities include chef recruiting, chef onboarding, menu curation, meal documentation, providing support when needed with ingredient sourcing, QA/QC, food safety, nutritional research & analysis and new product research and development. You’ll also be expected to assist in local testing of products and processes designed by senior culinary team members.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Recruiting, onboarding and management of chefs.
- Assisting in the design, documentation, and implementation of new recipes and menus that support local demand.
- Collaborate with local chefs and the Head of Culinary to continuously improve current meal and menu offering.
- Team up with local Operations Managers and QA/QC Managers to assist, when needed, in operational and administrative processes around quality assurance/quality control and ensured ingredient sourcing and compliance, food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with the Senior Manager of Nutrition to ensure meals and menus fit company nutritional parameters.
- Work collaboratively with Director of Partnerships to design and integrate key partnership products and meal concepts into the local menu
- Serve as our local chef personnel motivator and point of contact- This includes sharing values, managing chef personalities, and making yourself available for chefs when needed.
The must haves (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications):
- You have passion for nutritious food, with a philosophical lean towards, anti-inflammatory eating and food tribes, like Paleo, Keto, Whole30 and Vegan.
- You have proven recipe design knowledge, including experience specifically aimed at a target food cost.
- You have prior experience in a professional kitchen. Including restaurants, food trucks, catering company, etc…and an understanding of cooking techniques, methodologies and lingo.
- You are ServSafe certified and/or willingness to achieve it (funded by Territory)
- You are highly organized, and make strong use of technology to model and track every project and detail.
- You are an amazing communicator, and have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You are a team player, and seek to collaborate with other stakeholders and teammates.
- You are a self-starter. You continually assesses optimal conditions for success, and make adjustments to environment, schedule, and priorities as needed.
- You keep a flexible schedule, with the ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends when needed.
- College degree or AOS degree in Culinary Arts a plus
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience
- You are tech savvy- This position will require you to be fluent in the G-Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, gMail, etc). We operate on MacOS, and also use Slack and Asana. We also use Nutritics, which is a third party nutritional platform, and a custom built internal platform to communicate to our chef partners.

- You’ll have a very flexible schedule, but your ability to manage your time properly will be critical to success.
- You will be held accountable for daily, weekly and monthly deliverables.
You’ll almost never be in an office. Working from home is a skill you’ll need to develop. - You will be expected to visit our local chefs regularly, so you should be comfortable in kitchen setting
