Dotdash Meredith is looking for testers in our food testing lab in Birmingham! As a food tester, you would be able to test out a range of products—from cookware sets and gas grills to espresso machines, air fryers, and everything in between. Each product category would have its own dedicated test. During the test, you will follow a step-by-step methodology on how to test the products and answer a number of questions in a Google sheet about how each product performs. We will use your insights to inform our articles on Serious Eats, Food & Wine, EatingWell, and Allrecipes to make sure we’re recommending the best products to our readers. You will also be photographed as you are testing the products and these images will appear on our articles as well.

We are looking for testers who have extensive culinary experience, are detail-oriented, consider themselves a product enthusiast who enjoys trying out new products, and is an effective communicator.

Our rate for in-lab testing is $125 for a half day and $250 for a full day, and our lab hours are 9 am to 5 pm. If you are interested in becoming a tester in our Birmingham lab, please fill out this form and someone from our Research and Testing team will review your responses and reach out to you. Thank you!
