Too soon — summer’s not over yet! Take advantage of the sunny days and long evenings with lots of grilling and hopefully some swimming. Eat all the tomatoes you can get your hands on. Coffee pods up(bi)cycled
Swedish startup Vélocity has teamed up with Nestlé to develop a bicycle made out of the aluminum from 300 discarded Nespresso pods (h/t Quartz). Called RE:CYCLE, the limited-edition purple bike will cost €1,290 ($1,446). With this new product, Nestlé, which owns Nespresso, is attempting to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability.

Teen sends viral tweet via smart fridge
Last week, 15-year-old Dorothy discovered a brand-new way to use a smart fridge. CBS News reports that Dorothy’s mother had taken her electronics away, so the teen turned to the family’s LG smart fridge. She spoke a message out loud to the fridge, which then tweeted it out via Dorothy’s Twitter account. CBS News has not independently confirmed this part of the story, but apparently LG told CBS that it was, in fact, possible to tweet via their fridge.

Drone delivery pilot in North Carolina gets federal approval
This week the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) gave the thumbs up to Israeli drone company Flytrex (which has been delivering food in Iceland since 2017) and U.S. drone services firm Causey Aviation Unmanned to launch a drone food delivery pilot in North Carolina (via FoodDive). The pilot will take place in the town of Holly Springs, where drones will take food from a distribution center and deliver it to hungry people in an outdoor rec area.
