The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for providing strategic sales direction, support, and leadership to the sales organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the NAM is accountable for developing detailed sales plans, managing customer level P&L’s, and interfacing with cross-functional team members in developing customer specific programs. This position will act as the key interface between the customer and all Verde stakeholders. Strong emphasis on planning, forecasting, building customer specific programs and penetrating multiple levels of customer organizations. In addition, trade fund management, leveraging category management practices and resources are critical components of this role.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct business reviews both internally and externally to ensure sales plans are being executed and delivered
- Deliver category growth with our retail partners, achieve distribution targets, develop the promotional strategies that deliver efficient and effective trade spending
- Develop 1–3-year strategic customer plans by category
- Drive and collaborate with internal functions to develop customer specific programs/items/POS to build the business
- Accountable for the development and accuracy of sales forecast by customer and product to drive production planning
- Provide business updates to Senior Leadership on sales results/opportunities
- Understand and report back on competitive landscape and activity
- Build effective relationships throughout customer organizations and at various levels: Executive Management, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Planning, Marketing
Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following education, skills, and experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of CPG experience within the industry
- 1+ years of Direct Sales Experience
- Strong analytical capabilities with a demonstrated track record of identifying trends, opportunities, and business insights
- Strong skill level in Microsoft applications
- Ability to travel at least 50-75%
