Our growing team is looking to add a Director, Product Management to assist our engineering, sales, and marketing teams in the future planning of Picnic food automation projects.
The ideal candidate will be an effective collaborator and motivator who can lead a team of product managers. Candidates should demonstrate skilled product management leadership with experience working with customers and engineers to help define the product, develop a strong product development roadmap, and bring it successfully to market.
In this role you will:
- Oversee product management (software and hardware) and build a highly effective team of hardware and software product managers.
- Develop a strategic, long-term product roadmap across various foodservice segments and product lines.
- Understand the customers and their needs and translate those needs into crisp and focused Product Requirement documents which the team can use to prioritize product development.
- Understand the product development process and partner closely with the engineering team to understand their constraints and opportunities and work with the team build out a product roadmap.
- Partner with the Product Success and Design teams to determine the optimal functionality and feature set. Identify new opportunities as appropriate.
- Develop KPI forecasting, plan, and monitor product operation metrics like user engagement, product usage, revenue, etc.
- Monitor and report on industry product development and marketing programs.
- Mentor, manage, and grow employees.
- Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of product roadmaps.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field with 10+ years’ experience in product management, marketing, or program management. MBA a strong plus.
- 5+ years of demonstrated senior leadership and team management experience is required.
- Proven dynamic leader and project manager with great communication and collaboration skills.
- Strategic, innovative, and creative personality with a strong business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to use logic, rational thinking, and strategic reasoning to create business cases and product plans.
- Ability to assess direct and indirect competition to drive product plans and strategic decisions.
- Hardware lifecycle and software development knowledge required.
- Adept multi-tasker with ability to quickly prioritize and effectively delegate tasks and empower the team to be our best.
- Background in financial analysis, forecasting, business modeling, and new market economics required.
- Experience in startup environments a plus.
- Demonstrated success in building product roadmaps, development of strong MRDs and PRDs. Ability to create and manage PSRs, ECRs, product forecasts, BOM management, and development schedules.
- Data-driven and goal-oriented to track and hone success of campaigns.
- Willingness and ability to jump in when needed even when the task is ambiguous or undefined.
- Ability to assess and define needs of the role, team, and department as business needs fluctuate and expand over time.
- Focused, organized and disciplined approach to managing and prioritizing initiatives and teams.
