Helaina’s R&D ecosystem harnesses the power of naturally occurring biological processes in tandem with modern advances in the space of synthetic biology, fermentation, and improved industrial processing.
We are a fast-paced startup looking for our next team member who is intensely passionate about advancing synthetic biology for food and beverage products and redefining the future of nutrition.
As one of the first five members of the business team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to rapid growth at Helaina across strategic business operations activities.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute the planning and implementation of projects focused on supply chain and manufacturing capability development to support scale up of Helaina’s product
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to support operational improvement and efficiency
- Proactively recommend, plan, and implement best practices and solutions for core operational tasks, such as expense management, ingredient sourcing, and logistics
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, managing interdependencies and ensuring visibility and alignment to strategic priorities
- Contribute to ad hoc projects or special events as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus)
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in startups, operations, supply chain management, or other relevant operational roles
- Experience leading internal and external stakeholders through complex and ambiguous projects
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced and evolving organization
- Ability to translate qualitative and quantitative analysis into actionable insights and recommendations
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication
- Total fluency across GSuite and Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis is a plus
Bonus Points
- Experience or demonstrated interest in startups
- Experience in the food sector, foodtech, or synthetic biology
- Experience with Monday and/or Miro

- Terms of employment: Full-time, non-exempt
- Location: NYC or Remote; United States
